Version v0.9

StackApply Privacy Policy

Effective Date:

StackApply is a browser extension developed and operated by Full Stack Innovations LLC ("Full Stack Innovations," "we," "us," or "our").

This Privacy Policy explains how StackApply handles information when you use the extension.

1. Our Privacy Approach

StackApply is designed to be privacy-focused and local-first.

The current version of StackApply processes and stores applicant profile information locally in the user's browser. Full Stack Innovations does not receive, store, sell, or use the contents of your applicant profile, job application forms, or autofilled information.

StackApply does not automatically submit job applications. The user remains responsible for reviewing information and deciding whether to submit a form to a third-party website.

2. Information You Provide to StackApply

StackApply may allow you to save information commonly used when completing job applications, including information such as:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Address
  • Professional profile links
  • Employment-related information
  • Education-related information
  • Job application preferences
  • Other information that you choose to save for autofill purposes

In the current version of StackApply, this information is stored locally using browser-provided extension storage.

This profile information is not transmitted to Full Stack Innovations servers.

3. Information StackApply Processes on Web Pages

To provide autofill functionality, StackApply may inspect form elements and related information on the web page where you choose to use the extension.

This can include information such as:

  • Input and form field types
  • Field names and identifiers
  • Form labels
  • Placeholder text
  • Accessibility labels
  • Select options
  • Other nearby page information needed to determine the purpose of a form field

This information is used to identify fields and determine whether saved profile information can be safely inserted into them.

In the current version of StackApply, this processing occurs locally in your browser and is not transmitted to Full Stack Innovations.

StackApply does not use this access to create a general record of your browsing activity.

4. Autofill

When you choose to use StackApply on a page, StackApply may insert information from your locally stored applicant profile into form fields that it identifies as appropriate matches.

StackApply is intended to assist with repetitive data entry.

StackApply does not automatically submit completed forms, accept agreements, or send applications on your behalf.

You are responsible for reviewing any information inserted by StackApply before submitting it.

5. Third-Party Websites

StackApply may be used on websites operated by employers, applicant-tracking systems, recruiting services, job boards, and other third parties.

When you manually submit information to one of those websites, that information is provided directly to the operator of that website and is subject to that website's own privacy practices and terms.

Full Stack Innovations does not control the privacy or data-handling practices of third-party websites.

6. Data Stored on Your Device

StackApply's applicant profile and extension preferences are stored locally in your browser.

Local data may remain until you:

  • Modify or delete the information through StackApply;
  • Clear the extension's local storage; or
  • Remove the extension, subject to the behavior of your browser.

Full Stack Innovations does not maintain a remote copy of this locally stored applicant information in the current version of StackApply.

7. Information We Do Not Intentionally Collect

The current version of StackApply does not intentionally collect or transmit to Full Stack Innovations:

  • Passwords
  • Social Security numbers
  • Credit or debit card numbers
  • Bank account information
  • Government identification numbers
  • The contents of your résumé
  • Your saved applicant profile
  • Completed job application answers
  • A history of websites you visit

StackApply should not be used to store passwords, financial credentials, or highly sensitive government identification information.

8. Application Tracking and Pro Features

StackApply is currently in beta.

Paid StackApply Pro functionality is not currently available for purchase, and Pro functionality marked as "Coming Soon" does not currently create a paid subscription or transmit billing information.

If future versions introduce accounts, subscriptions, cloud services, remote synchronization, analytics, or other services that change how information is collected or transmitted, this Privacy Policy will be updated before those practices are introduced.

9. Payments

StackApply does not currently collect payment information.

If paid StackApply services are introduced, payment processing will be handled through a third-party payment provider. Full Stack Innovations does not intend to directly store customers' complete payment-card information.

This Privacy Policy will be updated with additional information about payment and account data before paid services become available.

10. Analytics and Advertising

The current version of StackApply does not use applicant profile information or job application information for advertising.

Full Stack Innovations does not sell applicant profile information, form information, or browsing information to advertising networks, data brokers, or other third parties.

Browser extension marketplaces may independently provide Full Stack Innovations with aggregated information such as extension installation counts, ratings, or marketplace statistics according to their own policies.

11. Browser Permissions

StackApply requests browser permissions only as necessary to provide its disclosed functionality.

Depending on the browser and version of StackApply, these permissions may allow StackApply to:

  • Store extension settings locally;
  • Examine supported form fields on the page where StackApply is being used;
  • Insert applicant information into supported form fields; and
  • Operate extension user-interface components.

StackApply does not use browser permissions for unrelated purposes.

12. Chrome Web Store Limited Use

Information accessed through browser permissions is used only to provide or improve StackApply's disclosed user-facing functionality.

StackApply does not sell user data, use user data for personalized advertising, transfer user data to data brokers, or use user data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.

StackApply's use of information is intended to comply with applicable Chrome Web Store Limited Use requirements.

13. Security

StackApply is designed to minimize unnecessary transmission of applicant information by keeping profile and autofill information on the user's device.

No method of electronic storage or software security can guarantee absolute security. Full Stack Innovations will continue to evaluate StackApply's security practices as the product develops.

14. Children's Privacy

StackApply is intended for people using the extension for employment-related purposes and is not designed or marketed for children under 13.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through StackApply.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when StackApply's functionality, data practices, or legal obligations change.

When material changes are made, the effective date at the top of this policy will be updated.

If a future version materially changes the types of information StackApply collects, stores, or transmits, those changes will be disclosed before the new data practices take effect.
